Monday Made It: Cute magnets and GLITTER clothespins! WOO!

It's Monday… Monday's make me want chocolate, sangria, ice cream, shopping time, and anything else that I am not supposed to do or have. Why is that?! I hate Monday's…. With ONE exception….

It's Monday Made It with 4th Grade Frolics! YIPPEE!! After last week, I was on FCP (full-craft-patrol) and I think my favorite idea were the magnets made from scrapbook paper and the gems that go in vases and the glittered clothespins. How adorable and EASY PEASY! I stalked read all of the wonderful blogs that made them and wanted to be sure I did them correctly. So here is how I did it!

First things first- find some cute paper, I used a variety of patterns and bright colors to match my classroom theme. I found the gems at my local Dollar Tree and they are the large ones! They were big enough to use a 1 inch circle punch for the paper to glue on the backs perfectly. I love when things work out :) Then, all you have to do is paint a little Mod Podge on the flat side of the gem and then on the colored side of the paper. Next, place the paper on the gem colored side down against the flat side. Paint a little more Mod Podge over the back and wait for it to dry! Glue a magnet on the back and next thing you know you've got a set of customized magnets! :) Hooray for simple, cheap, and quick crafts!

Bags of gems- both literally and figuratively! :)

Perfect 1" circles from a variety of papers!

Mod Podge mess! :)

Dry them before applying the magnets!

And here they are! LOVE them!

I love my little whooty-whoos! :)

Cupcake cuteness!

This one is my favorite :)

My next MMI (short for Monday Made It) were the ever-popular glitter clothespins! I've seen these all over Pinterest and other teacher blogs (Tara over at 4th Grade Frolics inspired me!), since glitter should be my middle name- I decided to give it a go! I'm such a perfectionist though, so these took me a little longer than it probably would for most people :) I had to be sure the glitter was JUST perfect on both sides. My mom sat there and laughed at me- when I asked her for help, she said "NO WAY" because they wouldn't be perfect like I wanted them… Oh geez, am I truly THAT bad?! ;) hahaha...

Check them out! I absolutely LOVE the bright colors that I chose!

Well, what did you make this week!? I've already checked out a few blogs and have ideas for the rest of the week! YES! Don't forget about the AWESOME 25% off your total purchase coupon (including Sale items!) for Michael's for this week! Guess I better make a trip out there to grab a few things on sale! Thanks for stopping by y'all! Here's an adorable picture of one my fur-kids to make your Monday a little brighter :)

    1. You will love them! I could not believe how super easy they were to make! :) If you can find the larger size gems- the 1 inch circle punch is PERFECT and then you don't have to worry about cutting any paper :) HOORAY! I hope you try them! Thanks Kelly!

  6. Ohh how did I miss this DIY magnet pin in pinterest?! I love this!! I have been searching around for cute magnets. Why are ready made ones so expensive?! Just curious... did you use magnetic tape or did you glue the round thicker magnets on the back when they dried? I think you inspired another project for me this summer ;-) ~Cara Lee

    1. Hey Cara! Aren't they adorable!? I just love when I can make things found in the stores for a fraction of the cost :) As for the magnet size- because these are the larger gems, I got the larger round magnets to ensure they are strong enough :) I didn't want to take the chance of them falling down! I'm glad I inspired you! :) It's a very quick project, you will love them!

      Thanks so much!
