Hello friends! It's Friday and that means
Five for Friday linky time over with
Doodle Bugs Teaching! I'm so very excited for my first time linking up here as it seems my fellow bloggy friends just go BANANAS for it! :) So without further adieu, here are my five!
#1- This The Fabulous Life of an Elementary Teacher- she is PHENOMENAL! I started following her on Instagram and THEN she asked ME to help her kick off her new blog by using a few of my TpT items in her giveaway! OMGEE! I am just beyond thrilled about this and mostly because she has been such an inspiration through Instagram and TpT, I feel so honored! She had so many donations that she doesn't have just one giveaway- OH NO! She has FIVE- that's right, 5 giveaways! Holy guacamole! So head on over and give her some new-blog lovin' buy following her and OF COURSE enter the AMAZING giveaways while you're there! :) {Click the picture to head on over!}
#2- My classroom is slowly coming together! I know that many teachers have their rooms finished and mine still looks bare compared to yours! However, this being my first room- I'm proud! :)
#3 I love bringing my lunch- I love even MORE when my husband makes my lunch because he always puts fun stuff and cute notes for me to find, and I TOTALLY feel like a kid :) So, when I stumbled upon this on Pinterest today, I just knew I had to pin it! These lunch/breakfast/snack ideas are fabulous! Click on the picture to head on over to this fabulous
blog! :)
#4- This birthday treat idea is adorable! I just cannot get over how awesome this is! I found the idea on Pinterest, but it linked back to the fabulous
Amanda over at Teaching Maddeness. I cannot wait to do this for my team members and other faculty at school this year! It's easy and you can TOTALLY make yours in advance! I would be so excited to get one of these on my special day, so I hope everyone else is as well! :) {Click the picture to head over and see how she made them!}

#5- I had my New Teacher Training yesterday from 8:30-3:30p. I thought to myself at first - "AWW MAN! That's an ENTIRE day that I have to miss in the classroom!"… However, I was BEYOND blown away with the knowledge and ideas that I gained from this training! We got to meet our mentor coaches for the year who will come to our classrooms throughout the year to see how we are doing as newbies and what we can do to improve. I'm lucky to have such an amazing support system in my district and I feel so much more comfortable knowing that I have people to rely on. Not to mention- I TOTALLY WON A $50 GIFT CARD TO OFFICE DEPOT!!!! AHHH!! I never win :) So, I was SUPER excited about this! They showed us this video when we did our breakout sessions with our mentors- I actually have seen this video numerous times and I also showed it to my 4th graders this past Spring to pump them up before FCAT writes! :) It is definitely my favorite inspiration video/person!
Make sure to share this with your students! Could be a good first day activity! Hmm.. My wheels are turning now! ;)
Well, thanks for stopping by everyone! I hope that you will remember to follow me on Blog Lovin' and also don't forget to check out that awesome giveaway over at

Love this video. I showed it a few times to my Middle Schoolers! I saw those adorable Sundaes on Amanda's Blog just last night...guess I am going to need to pretend that I like coffee in order to get those cups.
ReplyDeleteHave a great start to your school year.

I am loving the owls on the front of your desk, Lindsay! I'm getting so excited to see your room when all the finishing touches are put on. I'm so excited for you! Congrats on winning a gift card. That's always a bonus. I would spend that in a heartbeat on printer ink! Lol!

Alison,
DeleteThose owls are from Kirklands! I got them on clearance when I was shopping with my mom one day, aren't they just darling!? Funny story- printer ink is exactly what I had to spend that gift card on! HAHA!! I was hoping to pick up some little things I still need of my classroom, but of course my ink ran out just when I needed it! :) I cannot wait to share my classroom reveal when it's finished! :)

Heya! Just found you through the linky and have started following along... I love that your husband makes your lunches. That is so cute! A friend at school has a husband who does the same! Mine doesn't make my lunch- but he does do all the washing :)

Serena,
DeleteI'm so glad you found me! :) My hubby makes the best lunches (although maybe it's just better since I don't have to make it!) ha! I like that your husband does all the washing, thats DEFINITELY a bonus! :)

Your room is looking adorable....can't wait for the big reveal...:) Love your desk! I am happy to hear your training was not boring and congrats on winning the gift card. Perfect timing for hitting the sales! Aren't those birthday treats Amanda came up with the cutest? I like your idea for giving them to faculty and staff. I might have to do that...I have been trying to think of something fun to do on birthdays! Have a wonderful weekend....Vicky

Hey Vicky!
DeleteThanks so very much! I am certainly putting my heart and soul into my room! I don't think i've ever researched so much in my life! I want it to be perfect :) I really hope Starbucks will give me some of those cups so I can make those for my fellow teacher friends! I think they are just so cute! I hope your week is going well so far!
